Don’t Hire AI. Hire Someone Who Knows How to Use AI.

AI is everywhere, and we are all still finding our footing with it. What can it actually do? What are its limits? And, of course, there is the ongoing debate about AI replacing the human workforce. Some want to replace everyone with algorithms, while others insist on keeping things entirely manual and human.

As always, in my opinion, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. You cannot wish AI away; you have to learn to leverage it.

AI is neither inherently good nor bad - it is neutral. It is a tool. And like any tool, you need someone who knows how to handle it.

This is especially true in communication. Sure, AI can draft excellent copy, but if you genuinely want to connect with people, it needs a human touch. You need a human to verify claims, ensure originality, and inject true creativity.

AI can speed up the process and smooth out the rough edges. But it cannot do it all.

AI coupled with human talent? Now that is a powerhouse.

Literature Research, But Verified

Literature research - and by this I mean thorough, detailed literature research - takes a massive amount of time. It is not just about finding studies. It is about evaluating the quality of the research, placing it into a broader context, and considering when the findings were made.

AI can help locate studies, but a human must ensure the data is solid. We all know that almost anything can be made to sound convincing, but that does not guarantee good science. Equally, studies with poor storytelling can still be hidden gems, while other "good" studies might not be relevant to your specific purpose. It takes trained, human eyes to pick the right ones.

Study Summaries, But Without Missing the Details

Another task where AI shines is summarizing studies. However, it can easily miss crucial details or context.

First, it is vital to use an AI agent that works strictly from the provided source to prevent it from making things up. Second, you have to know exactly what you need to extract from that study. Depending on your goal, you will need to look for different pieces of evidence, always interpreted within the correct scientific context. AI is excellent for a quick overview, but for the nitty-gritty details, we still need the human mind.

Brainstorming, But With True Originality

With AI, you never have to stare at a blank page again - that is the big, bold claim for the tool's benefits. Unfortunately, this convenience can make the human brain lazy because we are no longer forced to dig deep for our own ideas.

While AI can certainly assist with brainstorming, it relies entirely on patterns and information that already exist. The human brain is creative on a completely different level. Use AI as your assistant, not your replacement.

Writing, But Injecting Humanity

AI is also incredibly helpful for drafting. However, by now, most of us can easily tell when a text is purely AI-generated. I am not just talking about telltale code words or formatting quirks. I am talking about the lack of a true, genuine connection.

AI knows all the rules because it was trained on them. But AI does not experience life, and it does not have emotions. Human connection is built on shared experiences. You can absolutely use AI to build the framework of your text, but to add color, tone, emotion, and true connection - you need a human voice.
